A Parkway West High School sophomore is receiving an outpouring of support from her fellow students following a car accident on Friday that left her with a brain hemorrhage, broken vertebrae and bruised lungs.
According to student newspaper The Pathfinder, sophomore Alison Owen suffered the injuries after a vehicle she was in hit two trees Feb. 1. A St. Louis Children’s Hopsital official confirmed Owen is a patient at the facility.
The incident occurred in Chesterfield near a portion of Country Ridge Drive between Parasol Drive and Silverwood lane, which Chesterfield Police blocked off for much of the morning Feb. 2. Police said there were three other juveniles in the vehicle who suffered minor injuries.
